David Turnbull transfer latest as Celtic locked in talks and Stephen O'Donnell update

Celtic are locked in talks as the David Turnbull transfer is left hanging by a thread.

The deal for the Motherwell star took another dramatic twist on Tuesday night when it emerged Turnbull's multi-million-pound move to the Scottish champions could be off.

Hoops hierarchy are now back in discussions with the player and Fir Park officials to work out the best course of action for the 19-year-old after fitness issues arose when seeing specialists.

Record Sport can also reveal there has been no move by Celtic for Stephen O'Donnell - despite rumours swirling online the Parkhead club have opened talks with Kilmarnock, reports Michael Gannon in Austria.

It's understood Killie are examining the possibility of cashing in on the Scotland right-back, who has 12 months left on his contract at Rugby Park.

Celtic are aware of his availability but are yet to test the water as Arsenal remain in the hunt for Kieran Tierney.

The English Premier League giants have placed Tierney at the top of the transfer wishlist but Unai Emery has only £45million in his transfer budget.

Celtic are holding out for £25m for the treble Treble winner while Arsenal have bid around £18m.

O'Donnell remains an option but Celtic have yet to move for the full-back.

Turnbull could yet seal his switch to the east end of Glasgow but Parkhead chiefs want convinced of his fitness.
