David Turnbull backed to recover from Celtic deal KO but Motherwell chief unsure over future Parkhead move

Motherwell chief Alan Burrows is certain David Turnbull will reach the top despite his move to Celtic collapsing.

Record Sport revealed the midfielder will go under the knife on Tuesday to deal with his ‘ticking time-bomb’ knee issue which put paid to his £3.25million move to Glasgow.

The 19-year-old's protracted move to the Premiership champions appeared to be finally on before an issue was discovered during the players medical.

Burrows has paid tribute to the player and Celtic 's medical staff but admits he has "no idea" if a switch to the Hoops will happen down the line.

The Motherwell supremo said on social media: "The only thing we're concentrating on is getting the boy back fit.

"But he's a real strong lad from a great family and he'll bounce back and get his big move in time. It's not the end, just a little delayed.

'It's been a rough week for him, but he's a real strong

"It's not the end, just a little delayed. Also a note of thanks to the CFC medical staff, Tim Williamson in particular, who looked after David with great care & sensitivity during that part of the process."
