Celtic standout David Turnbull and rising Billy Gilmour will both reportedly make Scotland's 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
The pair were prime candidates to be included with international regulars Kenny McLean and Ryan Jack ruled out for the showpiece event.
Turnbull has been brilliant during his debut season at Celtic and Chelsea pass master Gilmour has turned heads when given the nod by Thomas Tuchel.
And the Scottish Sun state both are in when Clarke announces to the nation his squad to take on Czech Republic, England and Croatia this summer.
Scotland's first appearance at major finals in 21 years is bound to leave many on the fringes heartbroken with the likes of Andy Considine, Kevin Nisbet, Lawrence Shankland, Leigh Grififths and Liam Cooper all awaiting word.
Meanwhile, Newcastle boss Steve Bruce believes winger Ryan Fraser would be best served giving the tournament a miss due to ongoing injury issues.
He said: "It has been a difficult time for Ryan.
"Whether he’s going to be picked in the Scotland squad, I don’t know.
"I would think that would be a gamble given that he’s missed the last six or seven weeks.
"He’s not played any real football or even trained in that period.
"But with the problems Scotland have, and with being able to pick 26 players, I don’t know.
"It would certainly be a gamble though."
