David Silva is still chasing glory in European competition after leaving Manchester City.
In ten years at the Etihad, the Champions League was the only major team honour that evaded the Spaniard. A disappointing quarter-final defeat to Lyon for Pep Guardiola's side this month brought the curtain down on the schemer's time in English football.
His move to Real Sociedad - a last-minute switch from Lazio that left the Serie A side seriously unimpressed - means he will not compete in the competition next season but will be involved in the Europa League.
Despite entering the final stage of what has been a glittering career, the 34-year-old has not allowed his standards to slip.
"Of course, after so many years of playing in Europe, you want to continue doing that," he told reporters ahead of his new challenge in La Liga.
"I also came because I like the style of football the team plays.
"I have high expectations in terms of the football we'll be playing and I think we can compete for silverware.
"I've been lucky enough to win a lot of things in my career. I'm very competitive and I'm going to try and do the same here because that's why I've been brought in."
Having left without being able to say goodbye to City fans owing to the current societal restrictions in the UK, the Blues will look to bring the player back for a farewell appearance when it is safe for supporters to be in attendance again.
As well as a training pitch that will be dedicated to him, there will also be a statue of Silva erected outside the Etihad to mark his contribution at the club.
