Manchester City midfielder David Silva has picked out four of his City teammates from past and present as the best Premier League players that he has played alongside.
Silva is into his 10th year at the Etihad after joining from Valencia in 2010.
In that time the Spanish international has played alongside many teammates across his 424 appearances for the club.
During a question and answer session on the official club website, the midfielder was asked to name the best player he has played with during his time in England.
“The Premier League is a top competition and during these 10 years I played alongside and against very good players, just naming one would not be fair,” he said.
Although he did pick out four specific players.
“In my team Kun (Aguero) has scored a lot of goals and very important ones, Yaya (Toure)’s role was fundamental when he was at his peak,” he added.
“Vinnie (Kompany) because the hierarchy he had on the team and on the defence, Joe Hart too.”
Silva also named a number of former City teammates.
“When I first arrived, Joe (Hart), Gareth Barry, James Milner, Adam Johnson. They were great players, but they also made things easier for me, they really helped me to settle,” he said.
“When you arrive in a foreign country, having the chance to have people like them makes things easier. I’m really thankful to them.”
Silva is set to leave Man City when his contract expires at the end of the season, although uncertainty remains over if he will play another game for the club amid the season suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic.
