David Seaman highlights Leeds United issues Javi Gracia must address

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has claimed that new Leeds united manager Javi Gracia needs to find a way for the Whites to score more goals, while also becoming more solid at the back.

Gracia takes charge of Leeds with his new side winless in the Premier League since November. He now has 15 top-flight matches to keep the Whites in the division, starting with a vital clash against Southampton at Elland Road.

The defeat to Everton at Goodison Park has made this weekend's game even more crucial, as defeat to the Saints would see Leeds move into last place. Victory however could lift Gracia's side out of the relegation zone, depending on the results of Bournemouth and Everton's games against Manchester City and Aston Villa respectively.

And now boyhood Leeds fan Seaman has shared his thoughts on the key issues facing Gracia, with the Arsenal legend highlighting areas of concern at either end of the pitch for the former Watford boss to deal with.

"As good as Leeds are playing sometimes, they’re not scoring and they always look like they’re going to leak goals at the back," he told the Seaman Says podcast. "Everton had a couple of chances [during the 1-0 defeat last weekend] and I can’t even think of a save that Jordan [Pickford] made.

"These games, they decide [relegation], with Everton getting three points and then everybody else below them getting three points, it was a tough weekend for Leeds. Everybody around Leeds gained points and that’s why we find ourselves in the bottom three."
