David Raum has already issued an update on his future amid Manchester United transfer links

Hoffenheim and Germany left-back David Raum refused to rule out the prospect of leaving the Bundesliga club last month. Last week, a report emerged connecting him with a move to Manchester United.

According to German publication Bild, United, who will get their pre-season preparations under way in a little over a week's time, have joined the race to sign the attack-minded full-back. The 24-year-old, who started in Germany's 1-1 draw with England almost a fortnight ago, made a real name for himself in his first season as a Hoffenheim player last term, racking up 13 assists.

Also chipping in with three goals, Raum loves nothing more than getting high up the pitch and supplying quality crosses for attackers to try and get on the end of. His impressive tally of assists was helped by sometimes being asked to play as a left-midfielder, highlighting his versatility.

Raum, who has earned nine caps for Germany, has also been linked with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks. Following the emergence of those reports, the left-back was quizzed on his future and he refused to rule anything out, but admitted he would have liked to have helped Hoffenheim secure a place in Europe next season.

"Of course you think about it," Raum told Sport1 last month, addressing reports linking him with a move to Dortmund. "Naturally, I would have liked to have played on the international stage with Hoffenheim. Unfortunately, that didn't work out. That continues to be a dream for me."

Raum, an attack-minded full-back, played a key role in helping Hoffenheim end the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign ninth in the table.
