David Price dubbed 'too nice' after losing fight to Dereck Chisora

Fans of Scouse boxer David Price claimed he was "too nice" after he lost his fight to Dereck Chisora at London's O2 arena.

The heavyweight was beaten by his opponent in the fourth round, after Price's trainer Joe McNally intervened, reports The Mirror .

The Liverpudlian was dropped following a brutal combination from Chisora. He clambered back to his feet but McNally decided to end the fight.

Chisora was the aggressor from the off against former WBO world champion Parker as the London crowd got behind their man.

But on social media, many fans of Price lamented that the Liverpudlian was just "too nice".

Twitter user @KevinBridges82 said: "Everyone believes in David Price apart from David Price. The guy is too nice."

Chisora went to work on the body of his taller opponent, and received an early warning from the referee about low blows.

Price did his best to counter Chisora with his jab, but the tenacious Londoner dominated the ring in the opening two rounds and advanced forward relentlessly.

Price let his hands go in the third, and caught Chisora with a combination.

But the Londoner was quick to tie up the bigger man, catching him with a brutal left hook to the jaw midway through the round.

By the end of the third Price was holding on as Chisora let his hands go, with the duo staring each other down on the bell.

And in the fourth Chisora finished the job with a combination that floored Price.

The pair were boxing on the undercard of Regis Prograis' fight with Josh Taylor for the Muhammad Ali Trophy in the World Boxing Super Series.

And user @Fabinhohmydays wrote: "Unlucky David Price. With all the will in the world, it doesn’t take away the fact you’ve got a glass jaw, you’ve been a warrior.

"It’s been a good career, I wish you nothing but good luck going forward, you’ll never walk alone big man."

@LeonJames_1 said: "Not really much of a contest to be truthful. Respect to anyone with the balls to get in the ring but Price just doesn’t have the heart for a war.

"Lovely guy by all accounts, time to walk away. Puff of the cheeks at the end of the 1st round suggested he didn’t fancy it."

But @lewisjones3 said: "David Price is a giant but he’s to soft to be a boxer. Should be a coffee barrister or something."
