David Moyes vents frustration as Man United leapfrog West Ham on dramatic afternoon

A deflated David Moyes said he was "p***** off" after West Ham felt to defeat at Manchester United with the last kick of the game.

The Hammers looked to be staying in the top four with a goalless draw at Old Trafford until Marcus Rashford struck in the final seconds of additional time.

Rashford’s late goal sees United leapfrog West Ham into the Premier League’s top four while the Hammers have also played more games than all of the clubs directly around them. Tottenham have four games in hand, Arsenal three and Manchester United one.

Having held on for so long, Moyes was understandably frustrated at full-time.

"I’m p***** off with that result, that’s for sure," said the Scot.

"We defended well enough, we completely switched off [for the goal]. We didn’t do things that you learn as a young player when you’re trying to see games out. What you try and do in that last minute, we didn’t do that well.

"We defended well today but we lacked what we had in recent weeks, out attacking play wasn’t at that level but you also have to remember the level of the opposition.

"I’m not coming into these games to roll over and lose and say things are okay, we want to be better than that. I don’t think you’re competitive enough when you’ve got that mindset. I’m not pleased with the result but pleased with the performance, defensively - not our attacking play.”
