David Moyes rules out Celtic manager job as West Ham boss details Premier League contract clause

West Ham manager David Moyes makes clear he has no intention of jumping ship for Celtic, with his side flying high in the table.

The Hammers are in surprise Champions League contention, currently in fourth, two points above Chelsea.

Moyes is a former Celtic player and won a league title with the Parkhead club in the 1981-82 season.

But the 57-year-old has no intention of leaving West Ham, with his side in their best position after 25 matches since 1985.

Moyes explained: "I have no intentions of going anywhere. I’m really happy here. We are quietly ticking things along.

“I have already spoken to David Sullivan. Hopefully we can start to sustain a level of league position.”

Moyes could be offered a lucrative new deal at the London Stadium, but revealed there is an automatic extension clause in any case.

He said: "The truth is that I've got something if we finish I think it's above 13th where automatically it kicks in anyway if I choose.

The likes of Eddie Howe, Frank Lampard and Rafa Benitez have been linked with the vacant Parkhead hotseat after Neil Lennon resigned this week.

“There’s no big panic, and I don't feel under any pressure with it. We'll get it sorted."
