David Moyes issues Aaron Cresswell injury update ahead of West Ham United vs Brighton

David Moyes has admitted that Aaron Cresswell is a doubt for West Ham United's clash against Brighton on Wednesday evening.

The Hammers have lost their last two Premier League outings, falling 1-0 to Wolves last week before reigning champions Manchester City inflicted a 2-1 defeat upon them on Sunday afternoon.

Despite their losses, the east London outfit still sit fourth in the league table, however, fifth-placed Arsenal are now level on points as the Gunners trail on goal difference.

Now, West Ham will hope to get back to winning ways in midweek as they host the Seagulls at the London Stadium, with Graham Potter's side winless in their last eight league fixtures - having scored just five times in the English top-flight since their 2-1 victory against Leicester City back in September.

However, Moyes confirmed that the Hammers may be without defender Aaron Cresswell after the Englishman collided with the post after making an impressive goal-line clearance against City on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Scot said: "We've got a doubt about Aaron Cresswell, but he's been out today so we're hopeful that he's not too bad. We'll see how he is."

The former Manchester United boss also took some time to praise young full-back Ben Johnson, hailing the 21-year-old for his consistency in recent weeks.

"He's a great boy to work with and he's had to wait", he added. "He got his opportunity and he's been great.

"We've been really pleased with Ben and he had a really good game against Raheem Sterling. He's started the season really well.

"Sometimes an opportunity comes - you say it to any player in the squad. Sometimes you need a couple of games, and he's taken it. He's earned the position and the chance to get that jersey."
