David Moyes in Celtic job link as West Ham boss dubbed the 'natural fit' for Parkhead rebuild

Celtic have reportedly made an approach for West Ham boss David Moyes in their hunt for a new manager.

Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season and Celtic have reportedly identified the former Hoops defender as the man to overhaul their first-team set-up.

The Scot has done an excellent job with The Hammers this season, and West Ham - who currently sit fifth in the Premier League - are thought to be keen on offering him a new deal.

However, Moyes is yet to agree on terms with the London club - and the Glasgow giants are desperate to swoop, according to GiveMeSport.

It is claimed that Hoops' chiefs believe that Moyes, who played for the club in the eighties, would be a "natural fit".

Moyes previously said he has no intention of jumping ship for Parkhead while his side were flying high in the table.

Last month Moyes said: "I have no intentions of going anywhere. I’m really happy here. We are quietly ticking things along."

It is doubtful that Celtic will convince the 57-year-old to move to Scotland if the Hammers offer him a new contract.

The former Everton and Manchester United manager is close to guiding the Hammers to European football.

However, he has still not been offered an improved deal at West Ham - and Celtic are monitoring the process with great interest.
