David Moyes is hopeful that Jesse Lingard will decide to join West Ham on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Since leaving Manchester United on-loan in January, the midfielder has rediscovered some of his best form, scoring four goals in six matches.
After months of being on the sidelines at Old Trafford, Lingard is flourishing as a key part of Moyes’ squad.
Lingard’s goals have helped the Hammers to cement their place in the battle for a top-four finish.
Ahead of this weekend’s visit to Manchester, West Ham are just two points behind Chelsea in fourth, having played a game fewer.

With just a year left on his contract with Manchester United, there is a good chance he will be in line for a permanent exit in the summer.
And speaking to reporters, Moyes said he is hoping the status of the club could help persuade players like Lingard to come to the London Stadium.
"I hope we're going to be in a position to attract many players in the future, because of our league position, because we're a club with stature, we're in London, we have a 60,000-plus stadium which will be full every week. I think all those things go in our favour," explained the West Ham boss.
"Jesse wanted to come here, right from the start. When I was talking to him he wanted to come to West Ham. He saw it as a really good place for him. I think he'll have seen what we're trying to do.
"He's joined a good group of players as well. We've got international players and I'm hoping we can add to that in the coming transfer window. The job is to try to add to that.
"But I would hope Jesse sees this as a good place if it's possible to be done, and if we think that we want to do it at the end of the season."

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to confirm his plans for Lingard, but suggested the decision to send him to West Ham was a “no brainer”.
He said: "For David [Moyes] it has really worked out and for us as a club as well because we know that Jesse’s position is a No. 10 and we have got Bruno [Fernandes] there.
"So for me it was a no-brainer to get Jesse a chance to prove himself and to play some football again.”
