David Moyes gives update on the future of West Ham defender Winston Reid

David Moyes has revealed that Winston Reid has not completed a loan move to the MLS just yet but there is still the chance for him to do so in the coming days.

Moyes said a week ago that Reid was be on the move on loan, reportedly to new expansion side Nashville, but that move has stalled and he has remained in east London.

However, the Kiwi defender could still make the move to the US after the manager admitted on Friday that he still has the chance to get out there.

Reid hasn't played a competitive game for the Hammers in nearly two years after a succession of knee injuries and with the club being very careful with their second-longest serving player's recovery.

Moyes said: "Winston is still here, he is still training, still working towards possibly going to America but we have not got that confirmed yet.

"The club he was due to go to is off but I think there might be somewhere else for him.

Reid was was knocked out and suffered knee ligament damage during a 4-1 defeat at Swansea City in March 2018 which started his injury hell.

He returned to pre-season training ahead of the 2018/19 campaign when Manuel Pellegrini took over but suffered another ligament injury in a training camp in Austria and was ruled out for the entire first season of the Chilean's reign.

Reid made another comeback this past pre-season out in China for the Premier League Asia Trophy where he played 45 minutes in defeats to Manchester City and Newcastle in Nanjing and Shanghai.

He also featured in friendlies against Altach and Hertha Berlin but hasn't played for the first team this season. He's had two under-23s displays under his belt and has been a part of the last six Premier League matchday squads but hasn't seen any game time.
