David Moyes gives update on Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard's future

West Ham boss David Moyes has dropped a hint on where Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard's future may lie.

Since joining West Ham on loan in January, Lingard has excelled in the capital, immediately rediscovering his best form, scoring an outstanding nine goals and providing four assists across his first 10 games for the club.

The 28-year-old has proved the catalyst behind West Ham's success in the second half of the season, with his performances also earning him a recall to Gareth Southgate's England squad, which seemed warranted considering his consistent displays.

Rather unsurprisingly, though, reports have emerged over where Lingard's long-term future may lie, some suggesting he desires Champions League football, while others claiming the playmaker will definitely leave Old Trafford this summer.

Regardless, West Ham have made their feelings clear over Lingard and Moyes has now given an update on his future.

"He’s joined a team in great spirits and were doing great things. He’s added to that and given another dimension too," Moyes said on Friday. "We’ve enjoyed having him and I’m sure he’s enjoyed being here too because he’s given a lot.

"He’s been back in the England squad and I hope he goes to the Euros and we’ll find out in time whether he’ll be a Manchester United player or not next season.

"I'm not sure how realistic it is, Jesse has enjoyed himself I hope. He's Manchester United's player so they can decide what to do with him. If they let him go then I'd hope he'd consider us."
