David Moyes explains the difference between his and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Man Utd reigns

David Moyes believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is getting the precious commodity that he failed to receive at Manchester United - time.

Athough United were well beaten by Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, Solskjaer stands on the verge of perhaps his greatest achievement in the Red Devils hotseat.

A win over Moyes' West Ham at Old Trafford on Wednesday would lift his side into third in the table with one match of the season remaining.

That would put United on the brink of Champions League qualification, and Moyes - who failed to see out the full season when he was appointed by United as Sir Alex Ferguson's successor ahead of the 2013/14 campaign - says the Norwegian has upheld United's values during his time in the job.

"Ole had a difficult start, but the difference between Ole and me is that he's being given time," Moyes told his press conference ahead of the trip to Manchester.

"He's bringing players in from the academy, which United have always stood for.

"They have got really exciting young players of their own now... It's a wonderful club and a brilliant place to be, and the biggest club in the world, for me.

"It's always a special place to go and I'm looking forward to going back."

Although their safety is almost secured West Ham still aren't mathematically safe from relegation, and Moyes - who confirmed the Hammers want to sign the on-loan Slavia Prague midfielder Tomas Soucek on a permanent deal - says they'll be going to Old Trafford for a win.

"The maths tell us the job isn't done yet, so we've got to prepare and ensure we're ready for the next game and take the three points if we can," continued Moyes.

"We've not changed our approach. We've trained every day and prepared hard because we want to get better, not just for this season but for the future."
