West Ham manager David Moyes named an unchanged starting eleven for West Ham's visit to St James' Park to face Newcastle United in the Premier League.
That wasn't exactly a huge surprise from the manager followning West Ham's 3-2 win over Chelsea in midweek and the manager is not one to usually change a winning team.
Mark Noble returned to bench in the north east, as did Arthur Masuaku as both returned from injury but had to settle for spots on the substitutes bench as Moyes opted to make no changes.
The Hammrs face a run of four games in ten days, starting with the game at St James' Park, and team rotation may well come into play for the visit of Burnley to London Stadium next Wednesday but Moyes saw fit to keep it as it was for the Toon trip.
He explained to Sky Sports: "We’re trying to get a bit of stability and a bit of momentum. We actually thought that we hadn’t played too badly in the earlier games, but we had tough opposition.
"Newcastle are tough opposition today, we have started this period very well.
"We just need to win our own games then you don’t need to worry about anyone else. That’s what we have to do, the players are well aware of that. We have got a batch of games now where we will have opportunities to pick up points, we have to do that if we want to remain a Premier League club."
At half time, West Ham were drawing 1-1 with Toon. The visitors took the lead in a bright start as Michail Antonio lashed home with just five minutes on the clock.
However, they retreated into their shells and were pulled back by Miguel Almiron's close range finish midway through the first half. The Hammers ended the first half on the front foot but it was all square at half time.
