David Moyes delivers West Ham transfer update ahead of January deadline day

West Ham signed Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United on Friday evening having secured a permanent deal for Said Benrahma earlier that day.

The only other signing by the Hammers this January transfer window is that of the young Dane Frederick Alves.

The 21-year-old is very much one for the future and was not part of the matchday squad on Sunday as West Ham lost 3-1 to Liverpool.

Speaking after the defeat David Moyes was asked if Hammers fans can expect any more transfers before the Monday deadline:

"I don't really think we will be active at all, I think we have probably done our business unless something changes.

"We have a squad of players I enjoy working with and I want to concentrate on them rather than people from other clubs and hopefully we can continue the second half of the season, as well as we started the first half," said Moyes.

If there is no activity by West Ham on Monday that leaves the squad light on strikers with the club not having replaced Sebastien Haller since his departure to Ajax.

Robert Snodgrass was another player to leave the club, with his position and number being taken by loanee Lingard for the remainder of the season.

Issa Diop and Winston Reid are two Hammers players who have been linked with loan moves away from the club and will be ones to watch on Monday, with Liverpool a rumoured destination for Diop.

West Ham's winning run was ended by the Reds on Sunday afternoon 3-1, with Moyes' men falling to a Mo Salah masterclass.

The Hammers were in the game until two sublime finishes from the Egyptian and a wonderful team goal saw Liverpool take a 3-0 second-half lead.

Craig Dawson finished well from a corner for a late consolation goal for West Ham but the difference between the two sides was summed up by Salah curling in his effort and Michail Antonio putting his just wide of the post.
