David Moyes delivers Michail Antonio injury update ahead of Leeds United trip

David Moyes has provided an update on his West Ham United squad ahead of this weekend's Premier League game against Leeds United.

The Hammers are looking to bounce back from the last-gasp 2-1 defeat against Manchester United last time out, although they did gain some revenge by beating Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer's side in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

They currently sit in eighth, having lost just one of their opening five matches but do remain without a top-flight victory since the 4-1 success over Leicester City in August.

The West Ham boss, however, will be boosted by the return of top scorer Michael Antonio, who has missed the last two matches, and Moyes confirmed that he is 'fit' to play.

Antonio has scored four goals and assisted three in all competitions so far this season, including their first in Europe for over five years in the 2-0 win at Dinamo Zagreb.

It will be a welcome boost to the Hammers faithful after Jarrod Bowen was deployed in the number nine role for the two matches against the Red Devils.

Ryan Fredericks, though, has been ruled out with a groin problem and is the only player they have major concerns over ahead of the match.

Speaking about the right-back in his pre-Leeds press conference, Moyes said: "With the amount of games, we have got we want everyone ready to play so I am hoping they can all do that.

"I am not sure how serious Ryan's is."

Vladimir Coufal has started all five league matches at right-back, but the ex-Fulham defender was given some game time in the Europa League at right-back.

Apart from Fredericks, Moyes insisted that they have a full squad available and are nursing no other injury issues, which will boost their chances of coming away with all three points.

The same cannot be said at Leeds, who are without Robin Koch, Patrick Bamford, Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente, while Raphinha, Luke Ayling and Jack Harrison are all doubts through injury and match fitness.

Despite the number of problems in Marcelo Bielsa's side, Moyes is excepting a 'really tough game' and believes that it is a test for anyone who comes up against them.

He continued: "If you watch their games they have had a difficult start to the season.

"I am a big admirer of Marcelo Bielsa because of his record and everyone enjoys watching Leeds United.

"It is a really tough game, the energy they put into their game it is going to be a test for anyone who plays them."
