David Moyes delivers Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko injury update ahead of Man City clash

West Ham have been given an injury boost with several players slowly returning to fitness ahead of the trip to Manchester City.

The Hammers travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, looking to get a positive result after the disappointing 3-3 draw against Brighton last weekend.

Despite twice leading by two goals, West Ham were pegged back twice against the Seagulls and were left ruing the dropped points.

Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko both missed the game against Graham Potter's side, but Hammers boss David Moyes had a positive update on both players.

Man City vs West Ham odds

Anderson has suffered from rib and back injuries, while Yarmolenko has been a long-term absentee with a thigh injury.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Moyes said: "We have got a lot of players getting close to fitness. [Felipe] Anderson has had a couple of training days, [Andriy] Yarmolenko is back on the grass.

"Most of the players are just about ready, one or two knocks and niggles which could be over by tomorrow."

Moyes added: "We understand fully where we are but in the same breath, we need to perform well as individuals and a team.

"What we’ve seen from City over the years is incredible, now Liverpool.

"In the short period I’ve been here I’ll have had to face Liverpool twice and City.

"We’ll go there to try and take some points from the game."
