David Moyes confirms fresh injury blow and provides Michail Antonio update ahead of Leeds clash

West Ham United manager David Moyes has confirmed Ryan Fredericks will miss this weekend's Premier League match with Leeds United, although the right back is the only fresh injury concern.

The defender limped out of the Carabao Cup win against Manchester United straight after assisting Manuel Lanzini's winning goal, with Moyes revealing that he has injured his groin.

However, the Hammers boss also admitted that they do not yet know how serious the blow is and how much time the player may miss.

Michail Antonio also did not feature in midweek, although Moyes has confirmed the striker will be involved at Elland Road on Saturday after completing his one-match suspension after being sent off against Southampton earlier this month.

"Fredericks is the only player we have major concerns over, he felt his groin and he won't be fit for this game," Moyes told his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

"With the amount of games we have got we want everyone ready to play so I am hoping they can all do that. I am not sure how serious Ryan's is.

"Mic [Michail Antonio] is fit, in the main we have a full squad of player."

In the absence of Antonio, Moyes was forced to play Jarrod Bowen as a striker in their Carabao Cup clash with United on Wednesday evening.

But the former Hull City man impressed his manager and will be available to play against Marcelo Bielsa's side after playing 90 minutes at Old Trafford.

"We found it difficult to get a replacement to play No.9 but always in my head I thought Jarrod was capable and given a chance to do it he will be good," Moyes said.

"He is such a good boy to work with, he is happy to play anywhere and wants the games. He played very well the other night and showed his versatility."
