David Moyes breaks his silence over West Ham's pursuit of Nottingham Forest star

David Moyes has dismissed claims that West Ham have made a £12m bid for Nottingham Forest full-back Matty Cash.

Reports in the national press have consistently linked with Cash with a January exit, with rumours of a £15m bid being launched by Italian giants AC Milan.

Days after that, it had been reported that the Hammers had bid £12m for the 22-year-old. But Moyes has told reporters after his side’s defeat to West Brom that no such offer has been made.

When asked why they had only bid £12m with Milan bidding £15m, Moyes replied: “Can you confirm there was a £15m bid from AC Milan or was it just speculation?

“It’s my understanding that we didn’t make a £12m bid for Matty Cash, we made some enquiries, as far as I know we didn’t make any offer.”

West Ham are yet to make a signing in this window and the Hammers boss was asked whether the lack of bid for Cash was a show of indecision.

“I don’t think you can draw that one as being decisive or indecisive,” he added. “I don’t know who is saying we made the offer, I think a lot of people are saying we make offers. But I genuinely don’t think we’ve made an offer for Matty Cash.

“He’s a good player mind.”
