David Montgomery, Bears starters not expected to play against Giants

The Chicago Bears announced who is not expected to play tonight against the New York Giants in their second preseason game and, as many predicted, all of the starters are on the list.

The most interesting name on this list is rookie RB David Montgomery, who dazzled in the team’s first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. While it’s not a complete shock Coach Matt Nagy is protecting his asset, many believed Montgomery would see more action in the preseason. Mike Davis will get the start at running back and Chase Daniel will be the team’s starting quarterback tonight in East Rutherford, NJ in place of Mitchell Trubisky.

The same goes for the defense as every starter will sit, including slot cornerback Buster Skrine. The Bears and Giants kickoff is scheduled for 6:30PM CST on FOX 32 and the NFL Network.
