David Mitchell completes Hibs switch as goalkeeper pens two-year deal at Easter Road

David Mitchell has signed a two year deal with Hibs.

The goalkeeper has left League One Clyde to join Jack Ross’ squad and provide competition for first choice Matt Macey and youngster Kevin Dabrowski.

Mitchell began his career with Ayr United before moving on loan to Stranraer. It was at Star Park where Mitchell enjoyed the best spell of his career, making over 200 appearances for the club over six years.

Spells with Dundee and Falkirk followed before joining Clyde in 2019.

He's been allowed to leave Broadwood to join the Scottish Premiership leaders after they brought in the experienced Neil Parry as a replacement.

And the Daily Record reports that Mitchell is now a Hibs player to take them up to three senior 'keepers on the books.

Hibs are also expected to confirm the signing of Middlesbrough centre back Nathan Wood on loan later today.

He’ll join up with his teammates at HTC after he returns from international duty with England Under 20s.

A striker is still on Ross’ transfer wish list while interest in Kevin Nisbet from Swansea remains, although a new improved contract offer is on the table for the Scotland striker, who hasn’t travelled with Steve Clarke’s squad to Denmark this morning.
