David McGoldrick is the complete package, according to Enda Stevens.
Cast to the side at the tail end of Martin O’Neill’s reign, the Sheffield United ace is back in form and has 12 goals this season.
Mick McCarthy is a huge fan having managed him at Ipswich and the Ireland boss also tipped off Blades boss Chris Wilder about him.
McGoldrick is expected to start tonight’s qualifier in Gibraltar - possibly playing off Seani Maguire - in his second coming on the international stage.
And Blades team-mate Stevens said: “I know what Didsy [David McGoldrick's nickname] can bring. He’s a link between the midfielders and the strikers.

Enda Stevens wants to nail down Ireland spot - but still feels he needs to prove himself
“But it’s not only that, he gets into positions to help the full-backs, he takes the ball anywhere and drives forward. He can beat a man and he can score goals.”
Earlier in the week, McGoldrick claimed Stevens was his Sheffield United ‘Player of the Season’ so far.
But Stevens said: “It’s probably vice versa, you know? We’re all playing well but Didsy is producing.”
