David Martindale SFA hearing postponed as Livingston boss made to wait over misconduct charge

David Martindale will have to wait another fortnight to discover if he’s won his appeal against a dugout ban.

The Livingston boss was charged with misconduct after being sent off against Dundee United in October for his reaction to Ben Williamson being red carded for a challenge on Declan Glass.

Martindale was offered a one-match ban by the SFA but he is fighting the charge.

The boss is maintaining that he did not use foul or offensive language towards the officials for the incident in the 1-1 draw.

The Lions manager was due to have his case heard by a disciplinary tribunal panel at Hampden on Thursday.

But it was postponed until December 16 due to illness.

Speaking at the time Martindale said: "I probably should've stayed in my technical area.

"But I wasn't aggressive. It was nothing I said to the linesman, but the fourth official is adamant I've used offensive language.

"I said, 'could you please tell me what I said?' And he said, 'I can't, I'll put it in the report.'

"I can tell you I never used offensive language.

"If I did, I would apologise. I'm staggered. It's football; there's passion, emotion. As long as you treat each other with respect surely you're allowed to talk to one another?"
