David Luiz has insisted he has worked hard to eradicate his errors after a man-of-the-match display against Manchester City helped Arsenal into the FA Cup final.
The Gunners beat City 2-0 at Wembley on Saturday night thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, it was Arsenal's defenders that earned most of the plaudits, with Luis as well as Shkodran Mustafi, Kieran Tierney and Ainsley Maitland-Niles turning in fantastic defensive performances.
It strikes a huge contrast to when Arsenal played Manchester City in the first game of the Premier League start.
It was a personal disaster for Luiz, who was subbed on, gave away a goal and then a penalty, which saw him sent off, inside half-an-hour.
The Brazilian has since improved thanks to Arteta's switch to a back-three and Luiz insisted he's been working hard ever since the errors to improve for the team.
"I think it's part of football," Luiz told BT Sport.
"I understood football is about survive. Every day you're gonna defend your team and people support other teams.
"It's about trying to survive. It's what I did, I worked hard every day after my mistakes, I took the blame, I was humble enough to accept that and work more for the team."
On Arteta's game plan, he added: "We did that because we were humble, we understood how we had to play.
"We have to be mature and understand which level we are in the process.
"We have an amazing coach who wants to bring the best football to the club but not 0 to 100."
