David Luiz: First pictures of £8m Arsenal signing in home and away kits after shock Chelsea switch

David Luiz has been unveiled by Arsenal following his shock deadline day move from Chelsea.

The Brazil international has joined the Gunners in an £8m deal after training away from the Chelsea first-team on Wednesday and demanded a move across London.

The 32-year-old held fears over his first-team prospects under Lampard at Stamford Bridge and was an unused substitute in Chelsea’s final preseason game, the 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Unai Emery - who worked with Luiz at PSG - said: "David has huge experience and I look forward to working with him again.

"He is a well-known player and adds to our defensive strength."

Luiz joins Kieran Tierney at Arsenal after the Gunners paid a record Scottish transfer fee to sign the left-back from Celtic for £25m.

The Gunners have strengthened in all areas of the pitch this summer apart from in goal. Midfielder Dani Ceballos has arrived on loan from Real Madrid while Nicolas Pepe has been brought in for a club record fee from Lille to bolster their forward options.

Arsenal have also signed highly-rated defender William Saliba, who will spend the 2019-20 season back on loan with Saint-Etienne before linking up with his new club next summer.
