David Luiz achieved an alarming feat for Arsenal vs Manchester City

David Luiz achieved an unwanted feat following his poor performance for Arsenal in their return to Premier League action against Manchester City.

The Gunners returned for their first match in 102 days but endured a difficult encounter, losing both Granit Xhaka and Pablo Mari to injury inside the opening 25 minutes.

Luiz came off the bench for the latter and had a game to forget, failing to cut out a routine pass from Kevin de Bruyne in the final moments of the first half and allowing Raheem Sterling to open the scoring.

Things didn't get any better for the Brazilian defender after the restart, as he was swiftly caught out of position by Gabriel Jesus and conceding a penalty.

That challenge also saw the former Chelsea man issued a red card and given his marching orders, leaving Mikel Arteta's side playing the majority of the second period with ten men.

If that didn't seem bad enough, Opta stats have revealed he has become the first player in five years to achieve an alarming feat.

Luiz was the first player to be sent off, concede a penalty and commit an error leading to an opposition goal in a Premier League match since Carl Jenkinson for West Ham vs Bournemouth in August 2015.
