Arizona Cardinals David Johnson has become a bit of a forgotten player. He was perhaps the league’s best running back in the league in 2016 but saw 2017 disappear with a wrist injury one game in and then had a very forgettable 2018.
He was remarkably ordinary last year playing in a scheme that did not feature his unique talents.
And if you have noticed his social media accounts, he is out to prove to everyone he is still one of the best or even the best. He wants to proves doubters and haters wrong.
He sounds like a player with a lot to prove, especially after he signed a huge contract extension a year ago.
However, in a list of nine running backs with something to prove in 2019 by sister site Touchdown Wire writer Michael Colangelo, Johnson doesn’t even make that list.
Johnson has a lot to prove. The Cardinals paid him to be a feature back who not only is huge as a runner but also as a passer. He is supposed to be the focal point of the offense.
He need to prove he was not another one-year wonder at the position and that he can be great again.
He deserves to be on that list with Todd Gurley, Le’Veon Bell, Leonard Fournette and others.
