David Hockney brings Normandy landscapes inside

ENCORE! © FRANCE 24

British artist David Hockney has drawn inspiration from his new home in northern France for a series of drawings and paintings which are currently on show at the Lelong gallery in Paris. While public galleries and museums remain closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, commercial art spaces are still allowed to show work and have become a haven for art fans, including the crowds who've flocked to see Hockney's new work.

We also check out some of the buried treasures of the Titanic, set to be displayed in Cherbourg, while an 18th century painting is finally returned to the family of its owner after being looted by the Nazis during World War II.

And the fauna of West Africa flocks to the French capital in a new exhibition named "Free Zone", which has just opened at the Institute of Islamic Cultures in Paris.
