David Haye gives Deontay Wilder the edge in his world heavyweight title rematch with Tyson Fury.
And the former world champion claims he hasn’t "heard positive things from behind the scenes” of Fury’s training camp.
Haye has made the decision to split from his long-time trainer Ben Davison ahead of Saturday night’s showdown in Las Vegas.
The Gypsy King will take on the Bronze Bomber in the meeting of boxing’s unbeaten heavyweights with SugarHill Steward in his corner.
And Haye believes that Fury’s decision hands the edge to the American.
"The fact Ben’s not in his corner is the biggest factor in this fight,” said Haye, speaking to The Metro.
"I thought this was an uphill battle for him anyway and I would have edged towards Wilder, but now he doesn’t have Ben… I haven’t heard positive things from behind the scenes.
"You can only go by what you’ve heard but having someone in your corner you’ve no history with isn’t ideal preparation for such a high-profile fight.”
With that decision made, Haye believes that ‘dangerous’ Wilder is the favourite for the bout - despite Fury having claimed he will knock Wilder out inside two rounds.
That signals a change in approach from the last fight between the pair.
However, Haye’s prediction for the fight sticks squarely with what you would expect.
"If the fight ends by stoppage, it will be Wilder,” he adds.
"If somehow it goes the distance, then Fury’s been able to take his power, [and] I don’t see Wilder winning it on points."
