David Haye has held his hands up and is delighted that Tyson Fury proved him wrong following his sensational win over Deontay Wilder .
Fury, 31, had promised to be aggressive in this rematch against Wilder, after his elusive boxing tactics were not enough to secure the belt in their first fight 14 months ago.
He delivered in style, flooring Wilder twice at the MGM Grand and beating the champion up to the extent his corner pulled him out in the seventh round.
Fury has now held all of the major world titles in the division, having outclassed Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to win the WBA, WBO and IBF belts.
And Haye has heaped praise on his former rival.
Writing on his Instagram account, Haye said: "Back on home soil and still blown away by what I witnessed in Las Vegas on Saturday night!
"The performance Fury put on at the weekend was one of the most impressive boxing displays I’ve ever witnessed live!
"Admittedly, I wasn’t convinced Fury would be able to execute the come forward game plan he and his father (John) promised against Wilder but on this occasion I’m happy to be proven 100 per cent wrong!
"Fury’s dominance against one of the most feared fighters in the history of boxing, will be remembered for many years to come. Battling on foreign soil, against the odds.
"Opinions are simply opinions, the element of unknown is what makes sport so great and in the build up to the weekend opinion was so divided even within the core boxing community, it create an incredible buzz around the bout.
"But now we know, at the end of the 7th round and with the announcement 'and the new' a champion was realised."
The former British heavyweight also called for Fury and rival Anthony Joshua to go toe-to-toe in a mouthwatering bout.
"Now I’d love to witness the two very best in the division those that hold ALL the belts between them, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua go toe to toe so we can finally determine who is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world!
