David Guetta takes over

French DJ/producer David Guetta always wanted to be a pop star – his early noughties Ibiza parties were called Fuck Me I'm Famous – and in 2009, his dream became reality. With the aid of former Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland, When Love Takes Over became an international pop hit, striking a chord with US R&B stars looking to switch up their sound. Collabs with Black Eyed Peas, Kelis and Rihanna followed. Now all R&B records sound like hollow, thumping Euro-house tunes. Blame Guetta.
