David Gray swerves Shaun Maloney Hibs boss timeline poser as caretaker offers uncertain Celtic final verdict

Caretaker boss David Gray admits he doesn't know if he will lead out Hibs for the Premier Sports Cup Final.

Shaun Maloney' s arrival at Easter Road is imminent with talks ramping ahead of Sunday's clash with Celtic.

But it was Gray who was in the dugout to lead the Leith men to their first win in four games against Dundee.

Paul McMullan's own goal proved to be the decisive moment in the capital as Hibs closed the gap on the Premiership top four.

However, with a return to Hampden just days away, Gray insists he is still in the dark over his future as boss.

When asked on BBC Sportsound if he knew if he was leading the team out on cup final day, he said: "No, nothing has changed.

"We will enjoy tonight as a group, and I think that's important. We can go home with a smile on our faces because we have done what we set out to do.

"Three points, and two points off fourth, which is what we wanted to do at the start of the night. We are delighted with that."

When asked if he would be comfortable leading the team out for the showpiece, he added: "Yes, absolutely.

"We will just continue doing what we are doing.

"From my own point of view the players have done everything I asked them to do to the best of their ability. They have given us 100 per cent effort which is all I can asked."
