David de Gea tells Manchester United teammates how to improve after Arsenal draw

David de Gea has warned his Manchester United teammates they must 'kill' games like their draw against Arsenal if they want to reach the top four in the Premier League.

United went ahead against the Gunners on Monday but were pegged back in the second half by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they were forced to settle for a point.

And goalkeeper De Gea, who produced a fine double save shortly before Scott McTominay put United ahead, says his teammates must hold onto leads in future if they are to realise their ambitions of securing Champions League football for next season.

Speaking to MUTV after the game, De Gea described the draw as two points dropped, as he sent a challenge to his teammates.

He said: "Always when you draw or lose at home, it's points that you give away.

"It's true that the game was well balanced. Both teams had good chances, but I think we deserved to win. This is the type of games we have to win to be in the top four so we are looking to improve, to bring this winning feeling.

"It was a great moment [McTominay's goal] but we need to learn at 1-0 up to kill the games. We need to kill the games at Old Trafford to win.

"We should have killed the game before 1-1 but the team reacts really well after Aubameyang scores. It was a good reaction and maybe we deserved a second goal."

Asked about his double save, De Gea explained how his role in the team is to produce big saves at important times in the game.

"This is why I'm here, to help the team in difficult moments," he added.

"Good two saves and straight after the goal so that's good for us. Always you have to give 100% for the team."
