David de Gea suffers injury as Dean Henderson makes Manchester United Premier League debut

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea was substituted at half-time with a suspected knee injury during the Premier League clash against Southampton.

United fell behind after James Ward-Prowse's corner picked out Jan Bednarek after 23 minutes.

Ward-Prowse turned scorer just ten minutes later as he scored directly from a free-kick. De Gea managed to get a hand behind the ball but couldn't prevent it from crossing the line, seemingly injuring his knee in the process as he collided with the post.

The Spaniard was treated on the pitch and continued to play until half-time when he was substituted for Dean Henderson.

Henderson, 23, has featured in the Champions League for United this season but his appearance against the Saints marks his Premier League debut for the club.

De Gea sat on the bench for the second half following the substitution. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to give an update on De Gea's condition following the game.
