David de Gea sets Manchester United challenge ahead of Aston Villa fixture

David de Gea has set his Manchester United teammates the goal of winning four or five games in a row if they are to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.

United have struggled for consistency throughout the season and were unable to build upon a promising upturn in form when they drew with Sheffield United last weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side struggled for much of the encounter at Bramall Lane and go into this weekend's Premier League encounter with Aston Villa ninth in the division.

Victory for United is vital ahead of a week in which they face both Tottenham and Man City, and De Gea knows a string of positive results could change their fortunes for the rest of the season.

"It is true that the first half was horrible," De Gea told Sky Sports.

"Probably one of the worst in this year. They (Sheffield United) are a great team, they play well, but it was important the reaction of the team in the second half. But it is not enough.

"We should win this type of game. To be on top we need to win four or five games to be in the top again.

"At the moment the team is not playing so well. Like I said we need to improve, we need to keep training, doing out best on the training ground and try to win games."
