David de Gea's demands for staying at Manchester United revealed

Manchester United are no closer to resolving David De Gea's future at the club, according to reports.

The Spanish stopper is set to enter the final year of his current contract and is yet to agree a new deal with the Red Devils.

Both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-German are believed to be interested in signing the 28-year-old, and he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January if he still hasn't signed a new contract.

It has been previously reported that Spain's No.1 wants a deal that makes him one of the club's top earners , with a salary similar to the one being paid to Alexis Sanchez.

But Sky Sports News now claims that the goalkeeper is also seeking assurances that the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will compete for major trophies

De Gea has made 362 appearances for United since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has established himself as one of the world's best goalkeepers

In addition to winning a Premier League title with the club in 2013, he has also helped the Red Devils to triumphs in both the FA Cup and Europa League.

However, after a number of exceptional seasons for The Red Devils, the Spanish stopper endured a miserable campaign and made a series of blunders that cost the club at the end of the season.

After gaffes against Barcelona , Everton , and Manchester City , De Gea made a critical error during April's 1-1 draw with Chelsea , which allowed Marcos Alonso to net an equaliser for Maurizio Sarri's team.

Those dropped points proved to be costly as Solskjaer's side finished sixth in the Premier League and missed out on a place in next season's Champions League.
