David de Gea has returned to England following the birth of his daughter but could still be unavailable for Manchester United's Premier league visit of West Ham on Sunday.
The Manchester Evening News revealed last week De Gea had been granted permission to fly to Madrid for the birth of his firstborn, Yanay, and that Dean Henderson was told to prepare for the possibility of starting in six successive games.
Henderson, 23, lined up for the third game running against AC Milan in the Europa League but was culpable for Simon Kjaer's stoppage-time equaliser in United's 1-1 draw.
De Gea, 30, is self-isolating because he left United's training bubble and has to quarantine for at least five days before he is allowed to have a Covid-19 test. If De Gea's test is negative then he can stop isolating and be available for selection.
West Ham is United's last league game this month as they travel to Milan for their Europa League round-of-16 second leg and Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals next week. Henderson has started in all six Europa League and FA Cup ties so far this season.
"Yeah, he is back in Manchester," Solskjaer said of De Gea. "He is self-isolating. He is just touch and go for Sunday, I think. I can’t really know when he came back so I am not really sure if it was Monday or Tuesday.
"I think the rules are he has to stay at home. He is not training with us, anyway. It’s different if you travel away and compete so no he has not been training since he came back."
De Gea has only sat out two league games this season, when he did not travel to West Ham in December and was rested at Sheffield United two weeks later. Henderson has started 15 times for United.
