However, one aspiring goalkeeper, complete with Whites kit, has found a novel way of sharpening his skills in his garden.
Sarah-Jayne Tobin posted a video of the boy using a garden fence to generate shots on goal he could save.
At the time of writing the tweet had been retweeted more than 35,000 times and seen more than 250,000 likes in 18 hours.
Spain international De Gea and Mata were among those to react with the latter, and Watford’s Ben Foster, even offering the boy a training session.
Retired goalkeeping legend Schmeichel was also one of those to be impressed with the ingenuity and dedication of the youth.
