David de Gea issues Manchester United title challenge verdict

David de Gea insists Manchester United could still win the Premier League title in what has been a 'strange' season.

United extended their unbeaten domestic run to five matches over the weekend as they drew 0-0 with City at Old Trafford.

Although the game was largely boring it still represented a good point for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side as they avoided a potential derby day defeat.

United were 7th in the league at full-time and only four points off early leaders Tottenham Hotspur ahead of a trip to face winless Sheffield United next week.

Another positive result in the coming week could see United climb the table even further and De Gea does not see a reason why his side shouldn't be dreaming of another league title.

"This year the Premier League is very open," De Gea told MUTV. "Many teams are fighting for the title so we have to dream. We have to believe that we can win the Premier League this year and go for it.

"It is a very strange season. Many teams are fighting for the top place so we need to be very focused in every game and try to win the Premier League."
