David de Gea injury fear for Man Utd vs Liverpool after goalkeeper limps out of Spain vs Sweden game

David de Gea could be a doubt for Manchester United's upcoming Premier League clash against rivals Liverpool after the goalkeeper limped off for Spain on Tuesday evening.

De Gea started for Spain in their Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden in Stockholm, but was replaced on the hour-mark after appearing to suffer a hamstring problem in his right leg.

Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga - who has recently overtaken De Gea as Spain's No.1, but made a costly late error in their 1-1 draw against Norway - came on for La Roja, and De Gea's withdrawal will spark worry among United fans ahead of this weekend's huge Old Trafford tie.

United have endured a miserable start to the Premier League season, and currently sit 12th in the table with just nine points from eight games - 15 behind leaders Liverpool.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job is not thought to be at risk as the Glazers think long-term, but the manager can ill-afford to be without one of his key players as the League's in-form team head to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have suffered numerous muscle injury problems early on this term, and while Solskjaer will be able to call on Argentina's No.1, Sergio Romero, De Gea's potential absence would be a huge setback.
