David de Gea hails 'unbelievable' Axel Tuanzebe after Manchester United win vs PSG

David de Gea says Axel Tuanzebe was 'unbelievable' for Manchester United in their Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put his faith in the young centre-back on Tuesday night and produced a tactical masterclass against the French champions.

United went into their Group H opener without either club captain Harry Maguire or fellow defender Eric Bailly as Solskjaer adjusted United's formation to deal with PSG's attacking threat.

Luke Shaw moved into a back three along with Victor Lindelof and Tuanzebe, with the 22-year-old making his first United appearance in 10 months.

Tuanzebe last featured for United in December 2019 when he played against Colchester in the Carabao Cup, but returned from injury to steal the show against one of the best attacks in Europe.

The young centre-back played a pivotal role as United won again in the French capital and after the match De Gea praised him for the key role he played.

"He has been unbelievable today," the Spanish goalkeeper told MUTV. "He played against two of the best players in the world in Neymar and Mbappe so he did really, really well. I am really happy for him.

"He has been in difficult moments with the injuries but now he has shown today that he is capable of playing in big games."
