David de Gea arrives at Manchester United training ground after suffering Liverpool injury blow

David de Gea reported for duty at Carrington on Thursday morning after being ruled out of Manchester United's meeting with Liverpool.

The Spaniard will not feature in Sunday's game at Old Trafford after sustaining a groin injury while on international duty with Spain on Tuesday night.

Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard are also out with foot and hamstring problems respectively.

Pogba sustained the injury during the 1-1 draw with Southampton at the end of September and has missed five of United's seven games since.

"Paul had an injury, he came back, he worked really hard. He came back and played a couple of games, maybe played through the pain barrier," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

"He had a scan after the Arsenal game and maybe needed a few weeks' rest in a boot so hopefully he won't be too long, but he won't make this game, no."

Solskjaer is hopeful Anthony Martial, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Anthony Martial will be able to play some part against Liverpool.

"I can't tell you 100 per cent [who] is going to be fit as something might happen," Solskjaer said.

"But hopefully Aaron and Anthony will last the training this week and be available for selection. If it's for half a game or 30 minutes I don't know but let's see where they're at."
