David Clifford celebrates Fossa's All-Ireland win with young son

David Clifford celebrated Fossa's All-Ireland victory by bringing his young son Ogie on to the Croke Park pitch.

The Kerry club were crowned All-Ireland Club Football Junior champions after defeating Tyrone side Stewartstown Harps at GAA Headquarters on Sunday.

And Clifford, who scored 11 points in the decider, was all smiles as he posed for a photo with his one-year-old son.

It was a huge victory for the Clifford family as David's brother Paudie captained Fossa to the win, while their father Dermot is the club's chairman.

David said after the game: “This is slightly different because you have the pressure of everything.

“When you’re going playing with Kerry you have the pressure of performing yourself. Whereas here you have the pressure of the whole thing.

“Having dad so closely involved, being the chairman as well, you can see what it means to him.

“So the pressure is different. It’s very intense. But there’s a total outpouring of emotion then when you do get over the line.”

The 2022 Footballer of the Year previously revealed how Ogie was a "welcome distraction" during the GAA season.

He told RSVP Magazine: "Becoming a father was a welcome distraction and it helped me to take my mind off football a small bit.

"It wasn’t hard to focus at all and if anything, the arrival of Ógie made me more focused because I was playing for someone else and not just myself."
