David Carr believes Saquon Barkley was snubbed in NFL Top 100

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley made his debut on the NFL Top 100 Players list earlier this week, being voted No. 16 overall following a wildly impressive and record-breaking campaign.

“He’s the best back to come into the NFL since I came into the NFL,” Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson said. “As far as potential and going forward, I think he will end up being the best back to play the game.”

But was No. 16 too low for the explosive Barkley? Former Giants quarterback and current NFL analyst David Carr thinks so. He believes Barkley should have made the top 10.

Saquon did everything for the Giants … and then some

Saquon Barkley got hosed. The Giants running back finished his rookie season with 2,028 scrimmage yards — third-most by a rookie in NFL history. He did all of this behind a poor O-line, and I’m convinced he would have been an MVP candidate if the Giants had stayed relevant down the stretch. Yet, he was voted No. 16 in this year’s top 100. Look at it this way: Ezekiel Elliott posted 1,994 scrimmage yards as a rookie in 2016, and was voted No. 7 in the ensuing top 100 list. Barkley deserves the same kind of respect.

Carr makes a valid point with his Elliott comparison, but it’s only a matter of time before Barkley is not only battling for a spot in the top 10, but potentially even the No. 1 spot overall.

What say you, Giants fans? Do you believe Barkley was snubbed at No. 16?
