Former Tory Prime Minister David Cameron has faced weight loss jab rumours after shedding a staggering four stone.
An insider told the Daily Mail of Cameron’s dramatic weight loss after the former Prime Minister was pictured looking slimmed down at the Cornbury House Horse Trials two weeks ago.
Although Cameron, 58, is rumoured to have used weight-loss treatments, when asked about it, his spokesman told the Daily Mail: “We are not going to comment on this as it is clearly a personal matter.”
The rumour comes as the number of people using weight loss drugs in the UK this year, including Wegovy and Mounjaro, has risen above a million.
Demand for Mounjaro rose so high that in August, Eli Lilly, the drug’s manufacturer temporarily suspended deliveries to the UK after there was “unprecedented demand” for it in advance of a price increase which was subsequently curtailed.
Cameron has been known for weight loss regimes, including an effort in the run up to the 2015 election during which he cut down his carbs by renouncing bread and went on runs every other day.
In an interview with The Times in 2015, Cameron said he also shed 13 pounds by “giving up biscuits and peanuts”.
Another insider told the Daily Mail: “He has lost weight, but more like a stone and a half – not four.”
Cameron was also pictured looking slim in a social media post he made on X in July at a golf tournament with his pal Enda Kenny, Irish Taoiseach when Cameron was Tory leader.
Great to be reunited with my good friend Enda Kenny, Irish Taoiseach when I was PM. From the UK’s Sovereign loan to Ireland to The Queen’s historic visit, we encouraged many things to bring our two countries together. The former Prime Minister has been no stranger to indulgence either, having been a member of the Bullingdon Club during his Oxford days, we well as at White’s, one of London’s elite gentlemen’s clubs, from which he resigned before becoming Tory Party leader.
One of his favourite establishments includes Scott’s, a Mayfair restaurant where diners can indulge in sauteed foie gras, a whole grilled lobster and a triple chocolate fondant.
