David Cameron builds coop ten years after first meeting Mirror Chicken

It looks as if David Cameron is missing the Mirror Chicken so much he’s decided to build a coop in his garden.

With memories of our cheeky bird, the former Tory PM set about making a pad for the family’s new chicks at the weekend, assisted by daughter Nancy, 16.

The lawn of their Cotswolds home, where Mr Cameron, 53, is on lockdown with wife Samantha, 49, and their three children, was soon covered in mail order debris.

Mr Cameron’s feathers were first ruffled by the Mirror Chicken during the 2010 general election campaign.

And the bird got him in a flap in 2015 when it confronted him over a debate no-show.

Posting these snaps on Instagram, amused Sam wrote: “Flat pack hell? Dave and Nance trying to construct a high tech coop.”

“Moving them this weekend from sleeping in our hall to in their coop.

“Children suffering from separation anxiety at the thought of the chicks leaving home!

“Say they now understand how parents feel about their teenagers.”

The Camerons moved back to their cottage in the hamlet of Dean, Oxfordshire, after David resigned as PM following the Brexit vote in 2016.

Designer Samatha, mum to Nancy, Arthur, 14, and Florence, nine, shared a snap of several baby chicks last month.
