David Brooks and Josh King to Manchester United transfer stance ahead of summer window

Manchester United are likely to be given the chance to sign Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser and Josh King in the summer's transfer window, but David Brooks won't be for sale.

The Wales winger was previously linked with a big money switch to United and Tottenham Hotspur last summer after enjoying a breakthrough campaign with the Cherries in 2018/19.

The 22-year-old also starred for his national team under Ryan Giggs' management, helping them qualify for the European Championships, before suffering a serious ankle injury. That has meant he hasn't made a single appearance this season, though is gradually returning to fitness and could be available for Eddie Howe's side when football resumes.

United signed Brooks' international teammate and another of Giggs' students, Daniel James, last summer in a £15million move from Swansea.

But MEN Sport understands Bournemouth have no interest in selling Brooks this summer. They could, however, look to cash in on King - who came close to a United return in January - and others.

United baulked at the Cherries' asking price for King after registering deadline day interest in the Norwegian striker, who came through the United academy in 2009 before spells with Blackburn and Bournemouth.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctioned a loan move for Odion Ighalo instead and the Shanghai Shenhua striker has impressed during his short stint with United so far, scoring four goals.

Another Bournemouth player, in Fraser, is set to become available on a free in the summer and United, along with other Premier League clubs, could be offered the chance to sign him. It has been claimed that the Cherries are looking to offload some of their highest profile stars in an effort to cut costs.

And although Fraser and Jordon Ibe will surely leave, they won't net transfer fees as their contracts are due to expire.

United may be considering Brooks among their options, though they are interested in Jadon Sancho as a priority right wing target for the summer.

With Bournemouth's no-sale stance on Brooks and that pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star ongoing - and United officials confident they can land Sancho - it's unlikely that fans will see James and Brooks rekindle their Wales connection at Old Trafford.
